Blue Star Cafe & Ice Cream Treats

Food was delicious. The place was small and cute, very busy on a late summer morning. We didn't have a wait at 10:45 a.m. but it looked like one started shortly after we got there. Our waitress was wonderful and got us started on drinks right away. She took our order and put it in but we had to wait about 30 minutes for our food. Not sure if that was because they were busy or what. There were only three of us, so it isn't like we were a huge party.Once the food finally arrived it was hot and tasty and everyone got just what they ordered. I particularly loved that they served real shredded hash brown potatoes (where I live in New York, has browns are fried cubed potatoes, which are called home fries here). My husband ordered the home fries and said they were good but wished they'd included green peppers and onions like they serve back East. Well, I told him, that's what they do out here in the land of the Pop (not soda, lol).The moral of the story is the Blue Star Cafe will serve up a tasty, inexpensive breakfast that's worth the wait. Try it!

Quite a lovely interior, outside is also nice but the cars driving by make it a lot less atmospheric. I got a small soft serve and it was still HUGE! I recommend sharing with a friend or getting the junior size for kids. I couldn't finish the small, sadly... but it's very delicious! Quite thick and creamy soft serve. The service was also very fast, it wasn't very busy so I got my order a few moments after I paid.

First time stop! Cute little place! They Had a nice little patio with plenty of seating, some tables have shades, others do not. I don't think you can actually "Dine in(side). [I'll have to update but I belive all seating is actually outside]. For being a tiny little shop, their menu was quite large. Plenty of food and snack options to choose from (I didn't look much at the food menu as we ate on the way over). Ice cream is what we came for, and we were not disappointed! Great selections, easy read menu (imo), fast friendly service and amazing, cold treats!Great for a pit stop, for a date, or maybe you want to come and just chill, literally!Good for entire family, yes bring the kids they'll love it!

Quintessential diner. One of the few breakfast places open on a Monday morning in the area. Lots of locals eat here and it’s clear why. Good food, big portions, great service, reasonably priced with throwback decor. Only 4 booths, 4 tables & 4 stools at the counter but we got seated right away. Plenty of patio seating outside on nice days. Would definitely return here.

The food was hot, fresh and so good! The service was amazing- the ladies made our visit great!! Will definitely be back!

This is an absolute must for a solid comfort food breakfast spot. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best we’ve had in Michigan and the breakfast sandwich and omelette were fantastic. It gives off a “hole in the wall” vibe but that won’t matter when you taste the food. Anytime we are in Saugatuck we stop in for breakfast. Consistently delicious and friendly customer service.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! The staff were great and very attentive to my 5 year old daughter. Food was delivered quickly and was delicious. Prices were VERY reasonable and we need to support small businesses like this. A gem of a place. Loved it.

A great spot to get a snack or some really good ice cream! A quaint, little place that can get busy at times, but don't get discouraged they have quick service! Parking is ample and plentiful. Come by and have some ice cream!
